SEVO: EEG for Coarse, Curly Hair

What is Sevo?

Electroencephalography (EEG) is a brain-sensing technology used to diagnose and monitor seizures in epilepsy as well as stroke, brain injuries, and sleep disorders.

We created Sevo, the first-of-its-kind EEG adapter, which helps EEG work on people with coarse, curly, dense, and afro-textured hair.

Traditional EEG does not maintain good scalp contact on this hair type leading to misdiagnosis, discomfort, and sometimes the need to shave off the hair.

Sevo is proven to improve EEG readings by more than 15x based on laboratory signal quality testing and hospital testing on pediatric epilepsy patients.

How it works

1. The hair is braided to expose the scalp — this alone improves the EEG signal quality (impedance) by 2x!

2. Sevo adapters are installed in the hair, using the strength of coarse hair to maintain scalp contact.
